This year, 2,500 goats and buffaloes worth Rs 3 crore were sold in Mandi, which is almost half of last year’s sales.
Bakra Mandi in Dubagga in Lucknow this year recorded a sale of Rs 3 crore on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha including an Ajmri goat which was sold for Rs 6 lakh.
The prices of goats sold in Mandi have risen to 51,000 rupees.
Shah Rukh, Ajmari weighing 300 kg, was sold for 6 thousand rupees and was bought by a businessman in Malihabad and another goat, the same name was sold for 2.15 thousand rupees.
These two goats were bred by Irfan Ajah, who named them after Bollywood actors to attract them more.
“I also have goats including Pathan, Sultan and Rajkumar among others,” Agha said. TOI.
