Aside from the chance to capture the interim ONE strawweight world boxing title, Prajanchai PK Saenchai said competing at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok gave him extra motivation in his latest fight.

The 28-year-old Thai fighter knocked out veteran Sam-A Gaiyanghadao in his championship match at ONE Friday Fights 22 on June 23 to become the interim Muay Thai world champion.

Prajanchai displayed a powerful combination of speed and power in steadfastly punishing his opponent. He finished Sam-A in the second round with a flurry of blows, culminating with a sharp elbow that sent the legendary 39-year-old striker lower to the mat. The fight was officially declared over at the 2:10 frame mark.

In a post-fight interview with ONE Championship, Prajanchai said that Lumpinee’s setup led him to the important win over Sam-A.

A representative of PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym said:

“I am very happy with the result and for the fans to support me (at Lumpini) because this fight is a very important fight for me. It was a temporary world title fight, everything was good and I am happy.”

This is Praganchay’s second victory at Lumpini this year. At the first ONE Friday Fights event in January, Kompet defeated Fairtex via unanimous decision.

Now the world Muay Thai strawweight champion, Praganchai is looking to unite the belts against the reigning King Joseph Laceri at some point.

By the way, Lasiri knocked out Praganchai as the main man in the division in May last year, winning by technical knockout in the third round of the title fight.
