Amid raids on 14 municipalities over allegations of recruitment fraud in West Bengal, at least seven do not have any documents related to the operation, according to sources at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). While the lack of paperwork makes the job difficult for the officers, they keep track of the recipients.
But the Trinamool Governing Council denied the allegations.

It all started when a businessman, Ayan Seal, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an Education Department recruitment scam in March.
The raids on his home led to email departments with documents proving that he ran a company called ABS Infozone. The company was awarded the tender to take care of the recruitment not only in the education department, but also in the municipalities. Officers feel Seal was a key link between job recipients and brokers. Agency insiders say the investigation found that a contract had been signed between Seal and the municipalities, for which there must be paperwork.
The agencies filed documents in court, alleging not only education, but municipal employment, too, witnessing corruption.

TMC announces a political view
When contacted by News18 MP for TMC Shantanu Sen, he called it a “political vendetta”.
“This is a completely false claim. They cannot fight TMC directly, so they use agencies to do so. TMC has zero tolerance for corruption. In case there is anything wrong, TMC takes necessary action. These are BJP policies and their weapon is the agencies.”
