A case has been registered under Section 377 (Unnatural Sex) of the Indian Penal Code and case notes have been sent to Hanumanganj Police Station for further investigation.

Police in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh state, have registered a case against an unidentified man for allegedly having unnatural sex with a cow, an official said on Friday.

Sandeep Pawar, an official at Mangalwara Police Station, said the alleged incident took place in the area of ​​Hanumanganj Police Station on Tuesday and a video of the heinous act went viral on social media, prompting some Hindutva activists to contact the police with a complaint.

He said a case has been registered under Section 377 (Unnatural Sex) of the Indian Penal Code and case notes have been sent to Hanumanganj Police Station for further investigation.

State Home Minister Narottam Mishra called the incident very sad and unfortunate and said, “Just as we treat the earth as a mother, we also regard the cows as our mother. It is an evil thing.”

Mishra told reporters that a case has been registered and the accused, though not yet identified, will be arrested within 24 hours and strict action will be taken against him to set an example for others.
