North Zone demoted North Eastern to 58/3 after setting them a huge target of 666 on Day 3 of Quarter Final 2 of the Duleep Trophy 2023 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, 30th June.
Resuming their first innings at 65/3, North Easterns compiled for 134 at 39.2. Nilesh Lamishani, unbeaten on his 35*, top-scored with 44 before he was bowled by Siddarth Kaul. No other batsman from the team reached 20 as Pravolumani Singh’s 19 was the second best innings score.
For North Zone, Kaul and Pulkit Narang each picked up three wickets. They declared their second innings on 259/6 with Ankit Kumar scoring 70, Prabsemran Singh 59, captain Jayant Yadav 55* and Ankit Kalsi 49 making significant contributions.
North Eastern Province lost Joseph Lalthankhoma (7), Langlonyamba Mitan Kishangbam (13) and Kishan Linguh (14) before stumps.

Saurabh Kumar claimed 4/33 as Central Province demolished Eastern Province for 69/6 in their second innings in the first quarter-final of the Duleep Trophy 2023 at the KSCA Cricket Ground in Alor. After Central Province were out for 239 in the second innings and Eastern Province set a target of 300, they responded forcefully with the ball.
Resuming their second innings at 64/0, Central District was out for 239. Conqueror Himanshu Mantri and Vivek Singh, who were unbeaten on 25 and 34 respectively, continued the good work on Day 3 and went on to complete their half each. Centuries.
The opening partnership, which was worth 124, was broken when Singh was struck by Ishan Borel for 56 off 120 balls. Mantri was next to score 68 when he fell to Shahbaz Nadeem. However, the middle zone batting collapsed after coming out of the holes as they lost their last eight wickets for 82 runs.

Eastern Province’s batting crumbled in the second innings as they found themselves in big trouble on 69/6 in a 300-run chase. Skipper Abhimanyu Eswaran was bowled by Kumar for 11, while Sudip Kumar fell to Grammy to Avish Khan for a duck.
Kumar also trapped Anustop Majumdar LBW for 11. Shahbaz Ahmed (18) was the next caught behind Kumar, while Shantanu Mishra (18) also died in the same position.
The terror for Eastern Province did not end there in the 2023 Duleep Trophy quarter-final match. They were six down for 69 runs at stumps as Kumar Koshagra was trapped lbw by Shivam Mavi.
