According to the schedule of the Standing Committee on Law and Personnel, you will hear the opinions of representatives of the Law Authority, Legal Affairs and legislative departments of the Ministry of Law.
Representatives of the Law Commission and the Ministry of Law were summoned by a standing parliamentary committee on July 3 based on a recent notification by the Law Commission to solicit stakeholder views on the issue of a uniform civil code.
As per the timeline of the Standing Committee on Law and Staff, it will hear the views of representatives of the Law and Legal Affairs Committee and legislative departments of the Ministry of Law” on a public notice issued by the Indian Law Commission on 14th June 2023, and invite the views of various stakeholders on the Uniform Civil Code, under the theme “Revision of the Laws of India.” Personal Status”.
As of Tuesday evening, the Law Commission had received approximately 8.5 electric responses to its public notice.
