Maharashtra Bus Accident: A bus on its way to Pune from Nagpur was part of a wedding party that had a fatal accident due to ‘heavy rain’, after which the diesel tank of the bus exploded and caught fire.

A survivor of Baladna bus accident In the state of Maharashtra that left 26 dead on Saturday, he said he and a few others managed to escape from the burning car by breaking its rear window. At least 26 people, including three children, were killed in Boldana after the bus they were traveling in caught fire around 1:30 am on Samruddhi Highway, on Pimpalkhuta Road in Sindkhedaraja.

A tire from the bus exploded and the car caught fire instantly. The fire spread in the blink of an eye. The passenger sitting next to me and I managed to escape by breaking the rear window.” PTI According to him.

Sources told News18 that one of the drivers died in the accident.

The survivor said that teams of police and firefighters arrived at the scene in a very short time. As one local resident said PTI Four to five passengers managed to escape by breaking one of the bus windows. “But not everyone can do that,” he said.

Many accidents happen on this road in Pimpalkhuta. We were called to help and when we went there, we saw the terrible situation. The tires had collapsed. People inside were trying to break windows. A local resident said, “We saw people being burned alive… The fire was so intense that we couldn’t do anything.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to each of the relatives of 26 people killed in the Samrodi Mahamarg bus accident in Buldana.

CM further said that the government will study safety measures on the newly opened highway as several accidents have been reported recently.
