Five people were injured in the clashes that took place in Dinhata district on Saturday night.
Police said relatives of the Transitional Military Council candidate were among the injured.
Officials said Bose monitored the situation throughout the night from the Cooch Behar constituency, where he resides, and instructed the state election commissioner Rajiva Sinha, the SP and the district judge.
A senior Raj Bhavan official told PTI over the phone that “Sunday morning, the governor visited the hospital where the five injured are undergoing treatment and may also visit the place where the clashes took place.”
Bose has also spoken with hospital authorities and asked them to ensure the best treatment for those injured.
He contacted the DM and SP of Cooch Behar and asked them to maintain law and order and catch the culprits.
Bose, who is on a trip to the northern regions of the state, visited the families of those killed and injured in the violent incidents in Dinhata.
Raj Bhavan has opened a “Home of Peace” and a 24×7 phone number to address complaints of violence and intimidation. These matters shall be taken up promptly with the Securities and Exchange Commission or the Secretary General.
About 5.67 crore people are eligible to cast their ballots in the state’s three-tier panchayat elections on July 8 for nearly 74,000 seats in Zilla Parisad, Samiti panchayat and Gram panchayat.
