BJP state chief Sukanta Majumdar took aim at the ruling Transitional Military Council and said if the Central Armed Forces were not deployed near polling stations, the party led by Mamata Banerjee would “indulge in massive fraud” during the July 8 panchayat elections.

Majumdar was speaking during an event in Kolkata. The role of the Election Commission in the state is not above suspicion. She is not playing the role she is supposed to play. If the Central Armed Forces are not deployed to the polling booths, the TMC will indulge in massive fraud. “They will loot the votes,” said the BJP MP from Balurughat.

Speaking about the BJP’s manifesto for rural polls, Majumdar said, “If we get majority, we will set up skill centers in different Zilla Parisads to train people, so that they do not migrate to other states in search of jobs. We will also prepare krishi kalyan kendras in different blocks for farmers “.

When the BJP leader was asked to comment on the alliance between Congress and CPC(M), he said, “Other opposition parties like MCP(M) and Congress are also facing atrocities from the ruling party. Our ideological stance is different from that of CPI(M) and Congress.” … However, there could be some understanding at the local level in some pockets to defeat the TMC.”
Responding to the BJP state chief’s comments, TMC MLA Tapas Roy said, “Their claims have no significance. They will not win zilla parishad seats because they do not have the support of the people. Every day, one or another BJP leader misleads the people.”
