India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra over the next five days.

Heavy rains continued to lash parts of Gujarat, inundating low-lying areas and creating a flood-like situation. An official said on Saturday that teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Government Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed in some of the worst affected districts of Kutch, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Navsari.

An Indian Air Force helicopter was deployed to pick up two people who were stranded near Sutrig village in Junagadh after the area became flooded due to heavy rains.

On the other hand, the Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday predicted heavy to very heavy rains in Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra over the next five days.

  • Flood condition is seen in low-lying areas of Gujarat due to continuous rains. Many areas in Saurashtra-Kutch and southern Gujarat experienced very heavy rains in the past 24 hours.

  • IMD is forecasting decades in rainfall intensity in eastern Uttar Pradesh from Sunday.
  • “The intensity of heavy precipitation over eastern UP as of tomorrow, July 2, is likely to decrease to light to moderate rain, but another wave of heavy rain is likely to appear as of July 4 over the region,” the Met Department said.
  • Heavy to heavy rains are also expected in some parts of Uttarakhand until July 5, the Met Office said.
  • Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains between July 3 and 5.
  • The Himalayan region of West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh will also receive heavy to heavy rains over the next five days.
  • Heavy rains continued to wreak havoc in Barpeta district of Assam, displacing hundreds of families.

  • according to PTI In the report, heavy rains lashed Palghar district in Maharashtra for the third consecutive day on Saturday. Several villages in Wada Taluka were cut off from the district headquarters after some bridges sank.
