The Philadelphia Phillies poured out on the Washington Nationals on Saturday. The team has scored 19 runs batted in on 18 batters, with each player getting at least one base hit.

Washington’s MacKenzie Gore only lasted 2.2 innings before he was pulled. He gave up seven runs on six hits. After the game, the Nationals announced that he was lifted due to a blister on his left middle finger.

The win splits the series into the finale on Sunday. Washington will give the ball to Trevor Williams, while the Philadelphia Ranger will give Suarez the start Sunday in a winner-takes-all game.

Saturday’s victory improves the Phils’ record to 44-38. They are third in the National League East, sitting four games behind the Miami Marlins, who are in second place.

“Now that was a game! Wow!” tweeted a fan.

“Run galore!” another fan tweeted.

@tweet Let’s put this game on REPEAT!!! ❤️🤍

@tweet We’re still 3 days away from the 4th or July… What crime laser show and fireworks show is at CBP?!?!? They are a little confused, but they have the spirit #Rang the bell

Philadelphia Phillies fans are excited by their team’s fireworks display on Saturday. This is the kind of offense fans have been anticipating all year.

@tweet Increase the power in the bank. The fireworks have been carried over from last night. 2 Bohmers, Explosion Cast and SchwarBomb! 19 works on 18 results. The team has had great success with RISP. I haven’t seen so many bloop strikes. Winning fun. Smiles on everyone’s faces. Take the chain tomorrow!

@tweet Thank you for your outrage and promptly correcting last night’s mistake in the match. That was about as good as it gets. You know the game is good when you see Covey. Positive season differential run babyyyy! Now take the series and play like this tomorrow too before Tampa…

@employee Keep this one! RISP’s batting average was higher today than it has been all season!

She scored 19 times on Saturday, the most for Philadelphia in five years. Hopefully, they still have some offense left at the end of tomorrow.

The Philadelphia Phillies could make some moves around the trade deadline

The Philadelphia Phillies have a hole at first base with an injury to Reece Hoskins in spring training. Countless players have tried to bridge the gap, but it hasn’t worked.

Some baseball insiders have paired the Phillies with troubled duo Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt. Goldschmidt’s ability to play first base and DH would give the Phillies some wiggle room.

The insider also thinks the Phillies could be looking for a starting pitcher at the deadline as well. Fortunately for them, this market may be hot. It is rumored that Lucas Giolito, Eduardo Rodriguez and Rich Hill will all be options at the trade deadline.

They could be in good stead if Philadelphia can get another strong batter to fill the void at first base and a starting running back pitcher. They have a roster full of elite talent but they are missing a few pieces.

While they are 11 games behind the Atlanta Braves, who can’t seem to slow down, they are still in contention. This is a team you can never count on. They nearly won the World Series last year with a record of just 87-75.
