A recent report on travel trends said that Jammu and Kashmir, Manali and Shimla are the preferred destinations for solo travelers as more people tend to explore the places at their own pace and preference.
The research, conducted by leading fintech company SunCash, found that nearly “35 per cent” of solo travelers preferred Jammu and Kashmir for vacation, followed by Manali (25 per cent) and Shimla (14 per cent).
Mussoorie, Sikkim and Goa are among the other preference the places, With bookings recording 9%, 7% and 5% respectively.
Destinations renowned for their natural beauty and cultural richness have seen a rise in popularity, impressing travelers. As of March 2023, domestic travel is becoming more common, and domestic capacity has already surpassed pre-pandemic levels. “Bookings have returned to 100 percent of pre-pandemic levels for domestic travel,” said Akash Dahiya, co-founder and CEO of SanKash.
The visions indicate a marked shift in travel styles, with travelers displaying a strong inclination toward “self-exploration, adventure, and reconnection with nature.”
According to the report, the most interesting trend has been the shift towards individual travel, with a massive “250 percent” uptick in the first quarter of FY23.
“Solo travel It topped the chart as the most preferred direction, as travelers tend to explore not only themselves but the world at their own pace and preference. A sense of freedom and independence are the main factors fueling this trend as people want to break free from their comfort zone and not feel influenced by the whims of other travellers.”
