Two people were killed and many injured when a car traveling from Lucknow to Sitapur lost control and fell into a crater about 70 feet deep in Kamlapur on Monday.

Police said two people were killed and several others injured when a vehicle lost control and fell into a ditch here in Kamlapur district on Monday.

The accident occurred when a vehicle traveling from Lucknow to Sitapur lost control, hit a barrier and fell into a ditch about 70 feet deep, said Sitapur Extra SP NP Singh.

The deceased are Sandeep Verma (52 years old) and Manish Verma (40 years old), the officer said, adding that the two injured were shifted to Lucknow for better treatment.
