Al-Kharrar police have detained six people for the attempted murder of a 19-year-old in Gharwan village. The accident occurred on Saturday evening. The police have arrested three suspects and raids are underway to catch the other perpetrators.

Those booked are identified as Rishiveer, Tushar, Sachin, Chann, Lucky and Mann. The accused had allegedly attacked Simranjit Singh, a resident of Gharwan.

The complainant stated to the police that while he was on his way to his village, the accused stopped him and attacked him with swords.

Singh was admitted to Kharrar Civil Hospital. Police officials said the apparent investigation indicates enmity between the accused and the perpetrators and the investigation is ongoing.

Police registered a case under sections 324 (voluntarily causing harm with dangerous weapons or means), 307 (attempted murder), 341 (unlawful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation), 148 (riot, armed with deadly weapons) and 149 (unlawful Assembly) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Kharrar Police Station (Sadar).

Three accused Reshivir, Tushar and Sachin were arrested while the other three were on the run.
