The Central Armed Police Forces will soon change their uniforms, making them easier to distinguish from similar garments worn by private parties.

The digital patterns have been approved, sources said, and the troops will change their main uniforms in stages. In the next few months other specialized units will also alter their uniforms with digital printing making them difficult to copy.

Last year, the Indian Army also introduced a digitally printed uniform and wants it to be copyrighted as well. The army changed into combat uniforms created by NIFT.

Sources say that the Ministry of Interior officials are keen to make the uniforms according to the requirements of the forces and with following the international patterns.

A senior official who approved the uniforms said digital prints are difficult to copy because this requires detailed disruptive design patterns, dotted with different colours.

CRPF will be the first to use these types of digital print uniforms and soon the rest will follow.

“The main concern with the pattern of a uniform is to make it different and difficult to imitate. Digital prints are difficult to copy and if done in an unprofessional manner, it will be difficult to get the same pattern on a full uniform. The fabrics that will be used in the uniform will be cotton and polyester, which It will be only 20%.”All forces have agreed on the proposed style and composition of the uniform and its implementation will start immediately,” a senior official told News18.

Sources have also confirmed that a few elite suites already have these digital printouts such as the CRPF anti-Naxil CoBRA unit.

Officials say it will be easy to identify suspicious people in dresses that look like troop uniforms.

Private security agencies also use similar camouflage patterns. Also, if a person tries to disguise himself as a member of the troop by wearing a uniform, it will be easy to identify him.”

The sources said that the next digital print uniform will be more breathable and will give the jaws comfort in all kinds of weather conditions.
