Interacting with NIT Delhi students as part of the BJP’s massive public outreach to celebrate nine years of Narendra Modi’s government, Jaishankar advised them to understand both local and global developments.

Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Monday that no country can progress without embracing technology and research and development.

Interacting with NIT Delhi students as part of the BJP’s massive public outreach to celebrate nine years of Narendra Modi’s government, Jaishankar advised them to understand both domestic and global developments.

“Globalization has broken the boundaries between home and abroad and you must understand what is happening around you,” he said, referring to the effects of the Covid pandemic and Ukraine’s war on the prices of petroleum products and food grains.

The minister said that no country can develop without embracing technology, research and development.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many changes have taken place in the past nine years.

Citing Modi’s recent visit to the US, Jaishankar said, “Modi’s image is different, especially in the democratic world as an experienced and credible senior leader.” He said that Modi’s ideas and decisions have an impact.

“In his foreign visits, Modi represents the strength and talent of the 149-crore Indians. The world is now looking up to India and its youth,” Jaishankar said.

The External Affairs Minister also highlighted the Modi government’s initiatives to make India a semiconductor manufacturing hub and to set up a national research institution.
