Indigo Airlines is making headlines again after a man claimed his wife’s flight was delayed by more than 3 hours because the pilot was tired.
Sameer Mohan, whose wife was traveling on an Indigo flight, posted screenshots from his wife’s WhatsApp chat where she talked about unnecessary delays. Later she said that the delay was due to pilot fatigue.
Tweets quickly went viral on social media as users discussed the bizarre reason for the delay. The conversation prompted the airline to assess the situation.
Indigo quickly responded to Mohan’s thread, saying they were working to get the passengers to their destination “as soon as possible.” The incident occurred on a flight from Dehradun to Chennai on July 2 (Sunday).

As the conversation developed, another passenger shared a video from inside the plane. He also said that after landing in Delhi, “The pilots stopped the plane and left. The crew has no information and they are very tired too. IndiGo has very poor handling of the situation.”
According to Mohan, his wife’s flight was delayed by about 10 hours.
However, in other tweets, Indigo mentioned that the delay was due to some operational reasons.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay. We understand the challenges when travel plans do not go as expected. The delay was due to operational reasons. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
