“(De Gea) will have a conversation with Manchester United; it will happen this week. I’m sure United will talk again with Inter Milan for Andre Onana because there is a concrete conversation but not an official offer for Onana.”
Romano added:
“Also, they have other options for a new goalkeeper; not just De Gea or Onana, they have other possibilities. Another option is to sign a different goalkeeper and keep De Gea to create more competition for a second goalkeeper. It all depends on the talks that happen this week.” .
The Spaniard has been a solid player in the ranks of the Red Devils since his arrival from Atletico Madrid for 18 million euros in 2011. He has participated in 545 matches with the Red Devils across competitions, keeping 145 clean sheets.
He was awarded the Premier League Golden Glove last season. While he made some costly mistakes last season, there is no denying the quality of the player despite his lack of ball-playing ability. Fans will be watching closely how his situation at Old Trafford develops.
