The Texas Rangers have four All-Star players, Jonah Heim, Josh Jung, Marcus Semin, and Corey Seager. It will be managed by none other than Dusty Baker, manager of the Houston Astros. The two are division rivals and the defending champion Astros trail the Rangers by five games in the standings.
If there are concerns about embarrassment, let them calm down. Baker laughed about the irony but said the four starters were more than deserving of being at the Midsummer Classic via Sports Illustrated:
“They deserve it. I mean, they’re having some great years, and they’re good. Now, I’m trying to understand, was this a national vote? Did you guys have the crowd to swing a decision, because that’s usually a New York thing.”

Ironically, New York teams only have one All-Star player – Aaron Judge. Baker went on to say that Semien has already spoken with Baker about the upcoming game:
“I’ve known Simien for a while, and he told me the other day that it would be an honor to play for both Bruce (Bochy) and I in one season.”
Semien earned his second All-Star nod, while his three Rangers teammates earned their first-ever draft picks. They could be joined by Nathan Ivaldi and Adolis Garcia, who are possible picks tonight.
The Texas Rangers had an excellent first half
Even though the first half of the season wasn’t quite over, the Texas Rangers should feel good about themselves. With four All-Star players likely to be announced and two or three more, they are clearly one of the best teams in baseball.
Led by Heim, Semien, Seager, and Jung, the Rangers boast one of the best offenses in baseball. Eight of their players have OPS+ of over 100, which is second only to the Atlanta Braves who have an astonishing nine.
Rangers have done it all in the last two seasons and seem to have made huge profits because they are real contenders this season.
