In a freak accident in Bengaluru, two people, including a policeman, were killed and five injured when their vehicle lost control and hit another vehicle parked on Doddagala Bridge early Monday. According to media reports, the occupants of the car that hit the parked SUV were on a joyride and were on their way to tea on the highway.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh, 40, a constable of Devanahalli Police Station, who was on night rounds in Devanahalli section, and Sarat, 28, who was in a fast Hyundai Accent.

According to reports, the accident happened around 1.50am when Suresh and an inspector were checking the Innova Crysta parked at the roadside where it had an accident.

While the policeman Suresh died on the spot, Sarath who was in the car died in the hospital. Five of his other friends, who were also in care, have been transferred to a private hospital, and are undergoing treatment.

Police identified the deceased as Suresh, 40, a policeman of Devanahali Police Station, and Sarath, 28, who was in a fast Hyundai Accent.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case against the motorist and opened an investigation.
