the Trailer for Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani On Tuesday and evening, the director went live on Instagram to chat with his fans about the movie. Fans were curious to see if there were any surprises in the film, as Karan’s films always feature guest appearances from actors like SRK, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. Shah Rukh Khan also appeared in Karan’s latest film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
When asked about SRK, Karan stopped and said that the star was not in the film. He said, “No, not (in the film) but his love and blessings are always with me. He is family to me and he was the first person to put out the first unit of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” The director added that there are “three surprising surprises” in the film. Eagle Eyed fans have already spotted Ananya Panday in a dance routine in the trailer, but it is not yet known which other two stars are appearing in the film.
Karan Johar was also asked if he had a surprise fling in the film and he laughed at the question. He said, “Fortunately, for all of you, I am not in the movie. My success as an actor has been pretty much zero.”

Karan Johar already dropped a song called “Tum Kya Mile” last week and when asked about the next single’s release, he said the hint was in the trailer. The next song could be “Jhumka” which appears in the trailer.
When asked about the inspiration behind the characters of Rocky and Rani in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Karan said that they were inspired by real people. “Rocky was definitely inspired by someone I can’t reveal now. Rani is like many people I’ve met. In fact, a member of the media I knew well and dressed like Rani’s way.”
When Karan Johar wrapped the film, he shared a post on Instagram saying that the core of the story came from a story told by his late father, Yash Johar. Part of his Instagram caption read, “…the germ of #rockyaurranikipremkahani came to me from a real family anecdote (something my dad once told me about) then troopers helped me create whatever I wanted with feature seven.”
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Dharmendra. The movie will be released on July 28.
