Three days after the swearing-in ceremony of nine ministers including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the distribution of ministerial portfolios among the new cabinet members has sparked controversy.

According to the sources, ministers belonging to Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena had reservations about giving a financial portfolio to Pawar. The Shinde camp, when it rebelled against the former Maha Vikas Agadi government, alleged discrepancies in the allocation of funds by the then Finance Minister Ajit Pawar. She had alleged that Pawar chose to neglect them in giving the money.

The new ministers led by Pawar attended the first cabinet meeting on Tuesday. After the meeting, the Shinde trio, Deputy Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Pawar held deliberations on portfolio allocation.

Sources said Pawar had initially claimed either the finance portfolio or the house which is currently with Fadnavis. Despite his request, he was offered the Revenue held by Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil of the BJP. However, no final decision was reached at the meeting and the meeting remained inconclusive.

Speaking with reporters, Pawar indicated that the allocation of ministerial portfolios in the Ministry of State may not be announced immediately. He attributed the delay to Shinde and Vadnavis leaving for Nagpur to welcome President Draupadi Mormo who will arrive there later in the evening.

“We all decided to work together. Asked if some members of the Shinde group were unhappy with his inclusion in the ministry, he said, “There is no resentment.” Pawar pointed out that he had worked with several members of the current cabinet in the mandate of the Ministry of External Affairs and was not There is disagreement.

Sources within Pawar’s camp said that apart from having an important portfolio for himself, eight other ministers should be treated with dignity. Among the other eight, Chagaan Bujbal, Hassan Musharraf and Dilip Wallis Patil all held important ministerial positions in previous governments. A leader from the Pawar camp said that the distribution of portfolios among these ministers is also important.
