In a surprise check of the ongoing summer camps, Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Baines visited the Government Smart Primary School and the Government Smart Middle School Phase II. The Minister reviewed the summer camps and expressed his satisfaction with the activities that the students learn.

By interacting with students from different classes, discuss activity-based learning and the school children’s experience of camp and recess.

The minister said the Department of School Education is organizing summer camps for students up to junior high schools from July 3 to July 15 to enhance learning through activities and other means. Binns said that government school teachers are doing their best to come up with innovative techniques for learning and creative ideas are being embraced to make the curriculum more interesting.

The Minister of Education said the school of clout would prove to be a breakthrough in the history of education in Punjab as the students would be honed by the experienced and dedicated teachers in such a way as to enable them to learn outside the curriculum. He said they would be prepared for the competitive exams as well.

Baines added that his ministry has allocated a budget of Rs. 5.06 crore for these summer camps in order to purchase materials for the children.
