External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is set to embark on a four-day official visit to Tanzania on Wednesday for high-level talks for greater bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

“EAM will visit Zanzibar for the first time from 5 to 6 July 2023, where it will visit a water supply project funded by the Government of India Line of Credit, liaise with the senior leadership and also attend a reception on board the Indian Navy vessel Trishul, which is visiting Tanzania,” the foreign ministry said in a statement. .
From July 7 to 8, the External Affairs Minister will visit Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where he will chair the 10th Indo-Tanzanian Joint Commission meeting with his counterpart.
Jaishankar will also invite the country’s top leadership, including several ministers of cabinet rank.
During the visit, he will meet members of the India Parliamentary Friendship Group and open an India-Tanzania business meeting.
The External Affairs Minister will also address the Indian community and inaugurate the statue of Swami Vivekananda in Dar es Salaam.
According to the MEA website, India and Tanzania have traditionally enjoyed close and friendly relations.
“The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Tanzania will strengthen the bilateral relations between our two countries,” the statement added.
