LONDON: A few days after the Indian Consulate in San Francisco was set on fire over the weekend, a poster promoting the “Kill India” demonstration in Khalistan has appeared outside the Indian High Commission headquarters in London Noon on July 8th on Twitter.
Several anonymous Twitter accounts, with less than 10 followers each, all created in June 2023, were promoting the same tweet on Wednesday, saying: ‘Khalistan ‘KILL India’ Rallies 8 July to challenge #Indian Hand in Assassination of Nijjar’, and tagging various journalists who write for the Indian media.
The tweet contains a poster announcing the ‘Khalistan Freedom Rally’ on July 8 at 12:30pm outside the Embassy of India in London with pictures of the Indian High Commissioner to the UK Vikram Doriswamy and Dr Shashank Vikram, Consul General of India, Birmingham.
The poster falsely describes them as “Hardeep Faces”. Singh NagarKillers in Vancouver.” As wrongly indicates Doraiswami Being the Director General of the Embassy of India in London. It appears to have been created by the Sikhs for Justice, which is better known by its name and which was behind the unofficial Khalistan referendum.
Hardeep Singh Nagar, terrorist and pro-Khalistan leader, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the province of British Columbia, Canada, on June 18.
Another tweet has a video of Gurpatwant Singh frying panthe US-based Sikhs for Justice General Counsel, in which he claims on camera: “The world Sikh Society is forging a peaceful and democratic process for the liberation of Punjab… Every Indian diplomat, whether in the UK, US, Canada, Australia or European countries, bears responsibility for the assassination of Nagar because they represent this Indian regime that uses violence to stop it. ballot…”
Kuldeep Shekhawat, BJP’s head of UK Friends Overseas, told TOI: “What does Pannun stand to gain from these kinds of tricks? The appointment of the Indian High Commissioner and our Director General in Birmingham clearly shows the frustration. There is no Khalistan support from the Indian diaspora and it is A clear story of a disinformation campaign that a few misguided Sikhs are trying to make. The true Sikhs of the nation India are and always will be (sic).”
Similar posters bearing pictures of Indian diplomats in Canada, the United States and Australia also appeared online, promoting rallies in Khalistan on July 8 outside the Indian missions. On Tuesday, India summoned the Canadian High Commissioner Cameron Mackay to record a protest on the Canadian label.
