Mumbai, Delhi Roads How-In: According to the police, the area was cordoned off in a timely manner and no mishaps were reported. The concerned department has been informed so that repairs can be made

There were two road collapses in Mumbai and Delhi on Wednesday. While many parked cars were trapped in Mumbai’s Chunnapati area after a large section of the road collapsed, the area in Janakpuri, west Delhi, caused traffic jams. However, no casualties were reported in either case.

According to a report in PTI, a large part of a road in Janakpuri collapsed, causing traffic jams in the area. Police said on Wednesday that the accident happened on Tuesday night and barriers have been erected around the site to avoid any mishap.

Pictures of the cave are doing the rounds on social media. The national capital recorded 0.2mm of rain in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the area was cordoned off in a timely manner and no incidents were reported. The concerned department has been informed so that repairs can be made.

The Traffic Police Department said it had received information about the congestion from Banka Road in Janakpuri and on the road coming from Mangolpuri towards Janakpuri.

Meanwhile, officials said a large section of the road collapsed on Wednesday morning in Mumbai’s Chunnapati district, trapping several vehicles parked there. A firefighting official said there were no reports of casualties.

According to preliminary information, the road collapsed at around 9 am near a college in Chunabhatti district, the official said. He said the bridge of fire, civil servants and police rushed to the site and cordoned off the area around the damaged road.

The official said that no one was reported injured, but several cars parked on the side of the road were surrounded.
