It seems that Shahrukh Khan’s upcoming films Jawan and Dunki are already setting records even before their theatrical release. The digital and satellite rights of the films are expected to sell for Rs 480 crore, which is quite a significant milestone for the actor.
Shah Rukh will be seen doing extensive work on Tamil director Atlee Jawan’s first all-India venture. The movie is scheduled to be released on September 7. In Rajkumar Hirani’s “Dunky” movie, the actor will be part of a storyline that is expected to highlight the rampant use of an illegal back road called “Donkey’s Journey” by Indians to migrate to countries like Canada and the United States of America.
According to sources close to the actor, “The rights to Jawan are a digital satellite, and the music sold for around 250 crores. The rights to Dunki were sold for approximately Rs 230 crore which individually is by far the highest value for any film.”
As per a Box Office Worldwide report, Jawan’s music rights have been bought by T-Series for ₹36 crore. Although several music companies were racing to buy the rights to the thriller’s music, T-Series secured the rights.
This comes as another critical win for the actor, whose latest film Pathaan broke several box office records and emerged as one of the highest-grossing films in India. The Jawan trailer will be attached to Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One in theaters. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages, and also stars Nayantara and Vijay Sethupathi.
Meanwhile, Dinky brings Shahrukh and Taapsee Bannu together on screen for the first time. In a recent chat with fans on Twitter, Shah Rukh revealed the most challenging part of the film. When a fan asked about it, he tweeted, “To go along with all the amazing cast in the movie and create the world Raju wants…”
