TECC in Mumbai will help expand mutually beneficial trade and investment opportunities between Taiwan and India. You will work in close coordination with TECC in India and TECC in Chennai to provide quality services to Taiwanese nationals and overseas nationals

In recent years, cooperation between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of India has witnessed great progress in many fields, including economy, trade, science and technology, important supply chains, culture, education, and traditional medicine. In view of this development, the Taiwan government will establish the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in Mumbai in order to further deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Since TECC was founded in Chennai in 2012, nearly 60 percent of all Taiwanese companies that invest and open factories in India have chosen to develop their operations in the southern part of the country. Thus Chennai and its surrounding areas have benefited from the investments made by Taiwanese manufacturing industries. The establishment of TECC in Mumbai is expected to have a similar impact in western India.

India will become the world’s fifth largest economy in 2022 and the most populous this year. With its huge market and related business opportunities, India has emerged as a prime investment destination for global companies. Mumbai is India’s largest city, serves as the country’s financial hub and boasts its largest port. Many countries have established consulates in Mumbai, including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

TECC in Mumbai will help expand mutually beneficial trade and investment opportunities between Taiwan and India. Under Taiwan’s new south policy, it will also promote exchanges and cooperation in science and technology, education, culture and people-to-people relations between Taiwan and western India. Furthermore, TECC in Mumbai will provide visa services, document authentication and emergency assistance to businessmen, tourists and Taiwanese nationals in the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, as well as the union territories of Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Damen and Diu.
