Fairly widespread rains are expected across India over the next couple of days, according to the latest weather forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
Continuous heavy rains are expected to continue in Kerala, with IMD having issued an orange alert in all districts except Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram for the day.
Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected in parts of northwest India, including Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, over the next five days. In parts of West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha too, bouts of heavy rain will continue this week.

Heavy rains continued in Kerala, one person was killed
Heavy rains have been pouring incessantly in the southern state since the night of July 4th. One person was killed and several areas were submerged as the water level rose in the dams and rivers of Kerala.
An orange alert has been issued in all districts of Kerala, except for Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.
According to the IMD forecast at 10 am, the rain intensity is likely to decrease in the next few days.

Heavy rains fall over southern Gujarat, Saurashtra from July 6: IMD
Officials told PTI that the International Mathematical Institute is expecting an increase in rainfall intensity in Gujarat.
An IMD official said that areas south of Gujarat are likely to see heavy to very heavy rains for three days from 6 July.
“From July 6, rainfall intensity is likely to increase and parts of southern Gujarat and coastal Saurashtra are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains. From July 7 to 8, Manorama Mohanty, Director of IMD Ahmedabad MIT Center said, Parts of the state are likely to receive heavy to very heavy and very heavy rains.

Parts of Mumbai saw light rain on Wednesday morning, after which the International Institute for Management Development issued an ‘orange’ alert, predicting heavy to very heavy rain for a few places in the capital.
Rain intensity has decreased in most parts of Mumbai since Tuesday night, and there was light rain in parts of the city and its suburbs on Wednesday morning.

A landslide accident was reported at Rahul Nagar near Eastern Expressway in Chunnapati on Wednesday morning at around 9 am.
