With phone manufacturers like Motorola, Oppo, Google, and others focusing on foldable phones, interest in the decades-old form factor has seen an exponential increase. The latest to join the party is Xiaomi, which recently confirmed the launch of its next generation foldable – Mix Fold 3.

In response to a question about the company’s latest factory upgrade on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi President Lu Weibing said that the Mix Fold 3 will be launched sometime in August this year. He added that the upcoming foldable device will be stronger and thinner compared to its predecessor – the Mix Fold 2, which has been described as a strong competitor to Samsung’s latest foldable phones – the Galaxy Fold 4.

Xiaomi launched the Mix Fold 2 in August last year. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and features a 6.56-inch 120Hz AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus with an 8.02-inch inner screen, which is half an inch more than the latest foldable phone from the South Korean company.

Some leaks indicate that the upcoming phone will come with Flex mode and may have a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery with 120W charging and 50W wireless charging. On the camera front, you are expected to get a 5x periscope zoom lens. But just like its predecessor, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 may be limited to China.
