You must have read stories immortal love But sometimes real life can mimic romance novels. A Scottish man tweeted about a chance encounter with a stranger from Germany who was traveling to the places he used to visit with his late wife.
Joel Ashton was on Honeymoon trip When he met the 83-year-old German man. The old man’s wife passed away four years ago. He has spent the past two weeks driving around all the places he and his wife visited when they were last in Scotland, 20 years ago. They also stayed in the same house where Ashton was staying with his partner during their honeymoon.
Yesterday I met a guy from Germany. He is 83 years old and lost his wife 4 years ago. He’s spent the past two weeks driving from Germany to all the places he and his wife last visited in #Scotland, 20 years ago. They visited the same house behind us in this photo, where we are currently staying on our honeymoon. We talked for a while about Scotland, his life, and how much he loved his wife, but I could talk to him for hours. I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again, but we exchanged emails and vowed to keep in touch. I said I would do my best to fly to Bonn one day to visit him. I just love serendipitous events like this,” tweeted Ashton, the wildlife park designer.
