Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star Kylian Mbappe has finally broken his silence and offered his view on the criticism surrounding his impressive career. He brought up the idea that his performances are often underrated because of his association with the Parisians.
In a candid interview with France Football (via GOAL), he notes that societal expectations and his club affiliation play an important role in the criticism he receives.
Mbappe said, “Do people underestimate my performance? Yes, but at the same time, I don’t blame them.” “In France they see me bigger, they see me all the time, at PSG every weekend or in the national team. I’ve been scoring a lot for years. So, for people, it’s become normal.”
Mbappe added:
“I never complained that my performance was lackluster. I’m young and I had the opportunity to be an observer, not long ago, before I was an actor. And me, I underestimated what (Lionel) Messi was doing, what Cristiano Ronaldo was doing, what he was doing The great players.”
He also noted that playing with the Parisians did little to lessen the criticism. These introspective remarks were among the many interesting points put forward by Mbappe, who decided not to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Last season, he kept an impressive goal-scoring output, scoring 29 and assisting five in 34 Ligue 1 matches.
With speculation rampant and rumors circulating about his future, all eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe as he sets out to prepare for next season. The season may start in the French capital under new coach Luis Enrique. However, with many reports claiming that Real Madrid and other clubs are interested in his services, such a move could be on the cards.
Kylian Mbappe remains at a crossroads amid interest from Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappe’s tenure at Paris Saint-Germain is hanging precariously. The French star recently announced his intention to leave the Parisian club as a free agent next summer, which upsets the Parisian pyramid.
According to Football Espana, Paris Saint-Germain has presented Mbappe with an ultimatum: sign a new contract within the next two weeks or face transfer listings. This tough stance illustrates the escalating tension between the superstar and the French champions, as relations have soured significantly in recent weeks.
Reportedly, the club’s senior officers, enraged at the defiance of their key player, are keen to sell him after haste. In the Spanish capital, Real Madrid are watching with interest the epic events in the City of Lights.
The La Liga giants have been orchestrating a strategy to acquire Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer next summer. But a sudden change of circumstances may speed up their plans.
