Dana White finds nothing disturbing about Adesanya dropping a series of N-bombs on Dricus Du Plessis. Du Plessis defeated former champion Robert Whitaker at UFC 290 via second-round TKO. He is the next potential contender for the UFC middleweight title which Adesanya regained at UFC 287.
Du Plessis is one of the elite UFC fighters produced by the African continent along with Israel Adesany, Kamaru Usman, and Francis Ngannou. However, he belongs to the white race, unlike the rest. Adesanya and Du Plessis faced off in the octagon during post-fight proceedings at UFC 290. “The Last Stylebender” addressed Du Plessis as N**** multiple times during this encounter.
He gets in a lot of trouble online for his use of the word. However, UFC President Dana White did not find any wrongdoing in this. While speaking to MMA media during the UFC 290 post-fight press conference, White stated:
“What’s the racial undertones? Who dropped the (N word)? He’s (Israel Adesanya) black. Who cares… I don’t care so much. This is the fight. Israel Adesanya can say whatever the f*** he wants to say. Who cares Why, people are fighting about it? Of course, they are… too bad.”

One of the points of contention between Adesanya and Du Plessis was African heritage and identity. Don’t be surprised if you become part of the story if and when the fight takes place.
Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has defeated several top challengers since winning the title in 2019. After regaining the title from Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya has been eyeing potential rematches against former foes like Jared Canonier, Robert Whitaker and Marvin Vettori.
However, Dricus Du Plessis’ second-round knockout win over Robert Whitaker at UFC 290 and Sean Strickland’s win over Abus Magomedov at UFC Vegas 76 brought a refreshing change to the title picture.
Adesanya engaged in a war of words with both fighters. Let’s wait and see if either man has the skill to take on the longtime reigning champ.
