Conor McGregor’s former training partner, Dillon Danes, has taken to Twitter with a controversial opinion about the UFC’s featherweight division.
After Aleksander Volkanovski’s successful title defense at UFC 290, Dillon Danes took to Twitter and claimed that although Volkanovski is a “talented featherweight,” McGregor is a goat’s featherweight. He said:
“Alex Volkanovski is undoubtedly a talented featherweight, but Conor McGregor is the best featherweight ever.”
Take a look at Dillon Danes’ tweet below:
Alex Volkanovski is undoubtedly a talented featherweight, but Conor McGregor is the best featherweight ever.
Alex Volkanovski is undoubtedly a talented featherweight, but Conor McGregor is the best featherweight of all time.
It’s worth noting that Conor McGregor went 7-0 during his career in the UFC’s featherweight division, a run that also made him the division’s champion. However, he does not have any title defenses on his resume.
On the other hand, Aleksandar Volkanovski has defended his Featherweight Championship five times so far and cemented himself as one of the greatest Featherweights of all time. Because of this, Dillon Danes’ tweet sparked a lot of hate on Twitter for looking beyond Volkanowski’s legacy as he introduced McGregor.
Check out some of the reactions below:
“Conor is not even in the top 5 featherweights of all time”
@tweet Connor is not even in the top 5 featherweights of all time
“return to L takes”
“He didn’t defend once, he ran away from the squad”
“We mentioned how many defenses Connor has?”
“Alex will eat Connor alive, stop R1”
“0 titles defended, satin harder”
“Don’t agree 100%”
Folk moves forward.
“I don’t know what you’re smoking but I pass it on.”
Robbie Lawler entered the octagon in what was his last fight in the UFC against Nico Price at UFC 290 last night. Despite being the underdog, “Ruthless” ended his run with a stunning first-round knockout victory.
As the MMA community bids farewell to the UFC veteran, Conor McGregor seems to believe Robbie Lawler will return in the future. The Notorious took to Twitter and claimed that Lawler will be back by the end of the year. He said:
“Back by the end of the year.”
