“In this regard, it was decided by a government notification dated 07.07.2023, to demarcate the borders of the three municipal institutions, which are Faridabad, Gurugram and Manesar. The number of seats has been determined.

Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said the demarcation process is ongoing and they were asked to attend the ad hoc committee meeting. The meeting will be related to the polls conducted by Gurgaon and Manesar companies on 17th July.

The order directed the head of the ad hoc committee to hold the meeting to demarcate the border by July 17. “The complete proposal for ward demarcation, maps and revised Prototypes of Proposed Vehicle Census along with details and form of demarcation notification shall be delivered by July 20th through the officer/officer concerned,” the order reads.

The tenure of the councilors in Gurgaon expired on November 2 last year and the elections are still pending since then. The Haryana government notified on July 15 last year that the number of wards in Gurgaon will increase from 35 to 40 on the basis of a population survey.
