The body of an infant was found in a rubbish bin of a hospital in Palghar district of Maharashtra state on Sunday, police said.
The body of an infant was found in a rubbish bin of a private hospital in Ferrar this morning, an official said.
He said that an offense had been registered under Section 318 (Concealment of Birth by Secret Disposal of the Corpse) of the Indian Penal Code against unknown persons.
The official said that the police are checking CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the suspects involved in the crime.
Tukaram Pashti, the hospital’s administrative officer, said the hospital staff went to the rubbish bin to dispose of waste in the morning, when they found the body of a newborn there.
