A total of 1,391 students from Delhi government schools have cleared NEET this year, which is more than 496 students in 2021, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, while congratulating those students on Saturday along with those who cleared JEE.

Kejriwal said as many as 730 students from Delhi government schools have cleared JEE Mains, while 106 have cleared JEE Advanced. In 2021, 64 students cleared JEE Advanced, while 384 students cleared JEE Mains, Kejriwal said, noting that these numbers have been increasing in the past few years.

Congratulating the students alongside Kejriwal at the Thiagaraj Stadium, Education Minister Atishi said girls of Delhi state schools have outperformed boys in NEET, with 933 girls and 458 boys passing the exam this year.

Kejriwal said, “When we formed the government in Delhi eight years ago, we were all new to politics. Our vision was to provide quality education to all children in Delhi, whether from rich or poor families. This is because we were clear that without quality education for our children, we cannot We never wanted to become a developed country. Then we started working on this. It wasn’t easy work, but it wasn’t impossible either. Within eight years, Thyagaraj Stadium was filled with success.”

Students who spoke on the job, some of whom said they did not go to exam practice, thanked their teachers and schools for the support, and the extra classes and books that helped them prepare.

Durgesh Sharma, who scored 592 in NEET, said the situation at home was such that he had to work in a shop. “I was being paid 500 rupees for four hours of work… I’m not sure about MBBS, but I might be able to get admission in BDS. The teachers at school helped me a lot, even financially, and with books. The school librarian helped me with books.” for the exam.

Devyani Sharma, a student who spoke on the job, said, “I qualified for NEET only because of the free NEET/JEE training given by Delhi government… I couldn’t believe I managed to qualify this time… Me and a cricketer playing for Delhi team, under age 19″.

Kejriwal said, “Today I am very happy to see schools that in 2013 were considered terrible, have now become very good. Back then, if a poor family in Delhi had two children – a boy and a girl – and if they had little money, the practice was to send The boy to a private school and the girl to a government school.After a year or two, the girl was taken out of the government school as the parents thought there was no point in sending them to the school.The dropout rate from government schools was very high.
