After a video of the incident went viral on social media, Sumit Chowdhury, Jaipal Singh Bagel and Prem Singh Parmar were arrested by the police on Saturday.

Police have arrested three men in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh state for allegedly detaining and beating a tribal man and his little brother after a road fight, an official said.

After a video of the incident went viral on social media, police arrested Sumit Chowdhury, Jaipal Singh Bagel and Prem Singh Parmar on Saturday.

This incident comes after the arrest of a man in the Sidihi area recently, after an old video clip was circulated showing him urinating on a tribal man. The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has faced heavy criticism over the issue. Deputy Commissioner of Police Aditya Mishra told reporters in Indore on Saturday that an 18-year-old tribal man and his 15-year-old brother fell on a road after their motorbike skidded in the Rao police station area on Friday.

This led to an altercation with the defendants, the official said, who allegedly took them to a guard’s room and beat them. The victims were released on Saturday morning.

DCP Mishra said they were later taken to hospital where their condition was said to be stable. He said the accused were registered under the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

The official said that if more people are found to have shared on the basis of the video, appropriate action will be taken against them.
