The police arrested the suspect for making a false claim to bomb a metro station
Police said on Sunday that a man was arrested here for allegedly making false calls to the helpline numbers of the prime minister and the police, and threatened to bomb a metro station in Lucknow.
Additional Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Niwas Mishra said, “Ramesh Shukla has been arrested, for a hoax charge of bombing a metro station.” Security has been tightened and a bomb disposal squad was deployed at Lucknow’s Hazratganj metro station in response to a phone call reporting a bomb threat, which later turned out to be a hoax, officials said on Saturday.
According to the police, the accused called the helpline numbers of CM and police on Friday night and said that one Dinesh Tiwari is going to bomb a metro station in Lucknow.
After investigation, it was found that Dinesh had nothing to do with the call. The officer said, “Ramesh made the call to try to manipulate him.
“Ramesh’s wife eloped with someone a few months back and Dinesh was suspected of it. Ramesh was angry with Dinesh for that,” he said, ‘Police filed an FIR against Ramesh at Kalinjar district police station and sent him to jail.
