Western India is expected to receive light to moderate rains widely, IMD said, with heavy to very heavy rains to continue in Konkan, Goa and Ghat regions of Maharashtra and Gujarat over the next three days. “There may be less precipitation after that,” she said.

In eastern India and adjoining northeastern India, the IMD predicted light to moderate rain. “Heavy to very heavy rains are very likely in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur in the next five days,” it added.

Moreover, heavy rains are expected in Odisha for the next five days, in Bihar from July 9 to 12, in Jharkhand on July 11 and 12, and in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until July 10.

IMD said that central India is likely to see light to moderate rain over the next five days.

Besides, southern India is likely to see light to moderate rains, with isolated heavy rains likely to continue in Karnataka and Kerala over the next 24 hours, adding, “However, there will be a significant decrease in rainfall thereafter.”
