Today, Saturday, a 58-year-old woman died after part of a building fell on her in Karol Bagh, central Delhi, officers said.
Police said they received a PCR call about the incident at 4pm, with the caller saying that the roof of one of Tibba Society’s flats had collapsed.
The victim has been identified as Ranjit Kaur.
Sanjay Kumar Sen, DCP (Central), said that a part of the headquarters collapsed, after which the woman went inside to remove some articles, however, the other part collapsed on her.
Police said Core crashed into rubble.
“The neighborhood was in a dilapidated state, and litigation over these quarters is ongoing between the college authorities and the residents. Legal proceedings have been initiated under 174 CrPC,” the DCP said.
