Actor and writer Ashutosh Kaushik became one of the first reality TV stars in India to win MTV Roadies and later cemented his status as a reality star by winning Bigg Boss. In a recent conversation, Ashutosh said that he wasn’t even able to read his contract with Bigg Boss before signing the offer.
Ashutosh said of Josh Talks, “I went to the Bigg Boss production house and they asked me what I would do in the Bigg Boss house and I gave my answers and came back. I was waiting near their office and after 15 days they gave me the agreement and asked me to sign the contract after reading it. They didn’t know I couldn’t read. I asked them if I could change the terms after reading them. They said “no” and I asked “where should I sign?”
He added, “After signing they gave me two bags, the signing amount and a weekly amount. That’s how I got to Bigg Boss. This audience love made dhaba wala Bigg Boss Winner.” Near the end of the chat, he reveals that he has come a long way and now has a law degree.”I did not know how to read the agreement, but today I am Attorney Ashutosh Kauhsik. Kaushik said he has no regrets about not knowing how to read. He mentioned that there was a time when he didn’t know how to give autographs. He said, “I was that guy who didn’t know how to give his autograph. People on the subways asked me for my signature and I told them “Take my fingerprint, what are you going to do with the signature”. One night I learned how to give an autograph and I made a few copies and kept them with me, then distributed them to anyone who asked for an autograph.”
The actor made his Bollywood debut with Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat’s Kismat Love Paisa Dilli in 2012. He was last seen in the 2016 movie Chal Jaa Bapu.
