A young man has been arrested in Dakshina Kannada for having carnal relations with an underage girl and impregnating her.
Police sources said the young man, Karthik from Kalmandka village in Sulia Taluk, has been booked under the Child Sexual Offenses Protection Act.
The arrest was made on the complaint of the victim’s mother at the Bellary Police Station in Solea.
Sources said the girl complained of stomach pain on July 7 and was taken to Solya State Hospital. After the examination, the doctors found that she was four months pregnant.
The girl was questioned and revealed Karthik’s name. Later, the victim’s mother filed a complaint with the police.
