“Nearly 34 people are stuck in their homes in Janyan village, hence Lilly’s rescue was ordered immediately,” D.C. Sarangal told News18.

With some villages in Jalandhar district of Punjab stranded in flood waters due to continued heavy rains, the district administration has launched a nighttime rescue operation to rescue people stranded in Janyan near Jidarpindi.

District Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal continues to monitor the command, as official agencies have ensured proper coordination between the various rescue teams.

“Approximately 34 people are stuck in their homes in Janyan village, hence orders were given to rescue Lilly immediately,” said D.C. Sarangal. News 18.

“The National Disarmament Front teams immediately rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation in the village,” he added.

NRDF teams have successfully started rescuing people with motorboats by communicating with them in their homes.

Sarangal added that the administration is committed to saving people’s precious lives from this situation and is making all efforts in this case.

Jalandhar administration officers have been stationed in flood prone areas since last night and rescue operations have begun at several locations.
