Ministers Bhujbal, Munde get death threat calls; man held from Mahad

It was alleged that the two newly appointed ministers, Chajan Bhojbal and Dhananjay Mundi, who belong to the National Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar, received threatening calls following which the police arrested one person from Mahad. The police in Pune and Bid have registered cases in this regard.

According to the police, on Monday night, when Mundy was at his home in Barley, Bede, he received the call. The caller told him that he had got a contract (supari) to kill Mundi and demanded 50 lakh rupees for not killing him.
After that, a case was filed at Barley City Police Station.

Likewise, Bhojbal also recently received death threats by someone when he was in Pune for a political event.

The person had called Boujbal’s personal assistant on the cell phone.
A recorded audio clip of the threat appeal to Bhujbal appeared on social media.

Subsequently, a case was registered at Koregaon Park Police Station.
Later, Pune Police tracked down the suspect Prashant Patil from Mahad in Raigad district. Patel is a resident of Kolhapur who told the police that he was drunk while making the calls.

Police said he admitted to making calls to Mundy as well. Barley City Police may take custody of him. Bhojpal and Mond were sworn in as ministers in Shinde Vadnavis’ government on 2 July along with six other MLAs of the NCP led by Ajit Pawar.
