Mahendra Singh Dhoni was at his humorous best during the soundtrack and trailer for his debut film production venture – LGM (Let’s Get Married). To actor Yogi Babu’s request that he would like to join Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Dhoni came up with a flattering response, stating that Ambati Rayudu’s retirement had opened up a place in the team.
Dhoni and his wife Sakshi launched the LGM soundtrack and trailer at a party in Chennai on Monday 10th July. The film is being produced under the banner of Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd and stars Harish Kalyan, Nadiya, Ivana, Yogi Babu and RJ Vijay, among others.
Speaking at the event’s launch party, Dhoni spilled quite a few wisdoms. To Yogi Babu’s request of wanting to be part of the CSK franchise, the team captain answered with wit:
“Rayudu (Ambati) is retired. So, we have a place for you at CSK. I’ll talk to the management. But, you’re too busy with movies. I’ll tell you, you have to play constantly. They are very fast and they give just to hurt you.”
Rayudu has retired from IPL and, consequently, from all forms of Indian cricket after CSK’s victory in IPL 2023.
Meanwhile, during the trailer launch event, Dhoni also teased about not teaching his wife any bad words in Tamil.
“I didn’t teach my wife any bad words. The reason is very simple, I don’t know bad words in Tamil. I know some other languages,” said the 42-year-old.
“How many of you are married here? You all know who is the head of the house then,” Donnie hastened to add.
During the event, Dhoni also shared his thoughts on his long-term relationship with Chennai and said that it was fated for him to produce his first film in Tamil.
The Indian legend commented:
“When Sakshi came up with the idea and I explained everything, I said we make it with Tamil language and destiny, which I believe in. My first Test happened in Chennai, my highest Test score was in Chennai, when it comes to cricket a lot of things happened that I’m proud of, It happened in Chennai. Don’t forget that as soon as IPL started in 2008, I was adopted by Tamil Nadu.”
Dhoni, who has lifted CSK to five IPL titles, including one earlier this year, has an incredible fan following in Chennai.
