The Supreme Court has given the center more time to decide on the provisions of the Places of Worship Act. While presenting the position side, the Solicitor General said that the matter was under consideration and given the subject matter and the nature of the case involved, it would take some time.

The Supreme Court had earlier published the case for a hearing in July against a set of petitions challenging some provisions of the Places of Worship (Special Provision) Act 1991, which prohibits filing a lawsuit to restore a place of worship or seeking to change it. in character than prevailed on August 15, 1947.
The Justice Panel of India D.Y. Chandrachod and Justice J.P. Pardiwala directed that the matter be brought before a three-judge panel for a hearing in July.
At the time, the Supreme Court reported that the center had not yet responded to the petitions. The council said the central government may submit its response in the meantime.
