Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been linked with a move from the club to the Saudi Professional League, and some fans on Twitter seem happy to hear the news.

Henderson was a longtime servant of the club. Since joining the team from Sunderland in 2011, he has so far made 492 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals and providing 61 assists.

As Henderson enters the twilight of his career, he was a crucial player for the Reds during the 2022-23 season. He made 43 appearances across competitions, recording three assists.

Steven Gerrard recently took charge of Saudi professional club Al-Ettifaq and is said to be interested in adding Henderson to his squad.

While Henderson could be an important part of the Merseysiders squad if he stays, some fans are delighted to see him linked with a move to the Middle East. Someone wrote on Twitter:

“No more huffball.”

Another fan wrote:

“I would prefer Gerrard’s contribution to the club if he could take this guy to Saudi Arabia.”

Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter as Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia:

‘He’ll surprise me’ – Danny Murphy on Jordan Henderson leaving Liverpool

The Reds have already made some new signings to bolster their midfield. Alexis McAllister and Dominic Zuboszlay joined the club. However, the likes of Naby Keita, James Milner and others left.

Thiago has also been linked with a move away from Anfield. Thus, although Henderson is 33 years old, he could be a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s team next season. Danny Murphy shared his opinion on the matter, telling talkSPORT:

“(Jordan Henderson’s departure) would surprise me. Unless (there’s) an honest conversation with Jurgen Klopp about how many games he’s going to play or not. Jordan still looks radiant physically.”

Murphy added:

“He still looks like he has a lot to give. He will still be in my first Liverpool squad, 100%. Absolutely 100%. I would be really surprised (if he joins Gerrard in Saudi Arabia).”

The Saudi Professional League has already added Premier League stars like N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and more to its ranks. Hence, Henderson joining Gerrard in the agreement could be a great thing.
