Robine Rijke and Caroline de Lange achieved early successes by landing devastating blows early on that reduced the Thailand women to 37-4 in 10 overs.
As the Thailand women tried to get back on their feet, Iris Zwilling, Eva Lynch and Frederick Overdick hit in the back of the innings to derail the visitor for just 92. Van Oostrom’s second ball of the game without a run on the board.
However, Heather Segers and Babette de Lied kept their composure and played sensibly through midfield overtakes without taking any chances. They put together a powerful 46-run stand for the second wicket in the space of 53 deliveries.
This match-defining partnership brought them back into the chase. After de Lied’s dismissal, Holland went into a mini-meltdown but Segers’ presence until the end helped Holland comfortably cross the line with six wickets.
