Drew McIntyre is back in the ring on RAW this week. The Scottish Warrior teamed with Matt Riddle against Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci of the Imperium. McIntyre remarked during the show that he would be out for some “company work,” leading fans to wonder if he’ll be appearing on Brand Red next week.
Drew McIntyre’s cinematic commitment could be the likely reason why he will be absent from RAW next week. according to PWInsiderThe former WWE Champion will make his Hollywood debut in a new action movie titled killer game Along with Dave Bautista (Batista) and Ice Cube.
Here’s what PWInsider had to say about the film’s plot:
“The plot of the movie is that Bautista is a contract killer who makes a contract on himself when he learns he is terminally ill. After learning that the diagnosis is incorrect, he has to fight for his life against whoever comes for the contract.”
The Scottish warrior returned to WWE after a months-long hiatus at Money in the Bank 2023. McIntyre arrived just in time to save Matt Riddle against GUNTHER, who had inadvertently ruined his return at The 02 Arena in London.
Before going on hiatus, the 38-year-old superstar last competed at WrestleMania 39, where he lost to GUNTHER in a triple threat Intercontinental Championship tournament that also featured Sheamus. His next high-profile live event could see him challenge The Ring General for his title at SummerSlam.
Their rivalry reignited after Drew McIntyre saved Riddle from Imperium’s attack at Money in the Bank on July 1. The Scottish warrior also came to the Original Bro’s aid on the July 3 episode of Monday Night RAW.
It remains to be seen if WWE will officially announce the match next week on the red brand.
